Fall break

Just a reminder, next week is fall break! There will be no school Monday, October 11 to Friday, October 15. We can’t wait to see you back at in-person learning on Monday, October 18. 

Grab-and-go meals for fall break

On Monday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 12, Tulsa Public Schools will serve all Tulsa children ages 18 and under several days’ worth of snacks and dinner meals free of charge to provide meals for the days that classes are not in session for fall break. Families can pick up one snack and one dinner meal on Monday October 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and six days’ worth of snacks and dinner meals on Tuesday, October 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families who bring their child to meal pick-up will not need to show identification. Service locations are available on the district’s website at www.tulsaschools.org/mealsites.

COVID-19 vaccine clinic tonight
McLain High School is teaming up with Utica Park Clinic to host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic for students ages 12 and older and their families tonight from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McLain High School (4929 N. Peoria Ave.). Walk-ins are welcome and can choose to receive either the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Those 17 and under must have a parent or guardian present for consent to receive the vaccine. 

COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at preventing COVID-19. Visit vaccinate.oklahoma.gov to schedule your appointment today.

Free movie night to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we are inviting all families to join us at our free movie night featuring the film “Yvette” on Thursday, October 14 at 7 p.m. at the Admiral Twin Drive-In (7355 E. Easton St.). We hope to see you there!

Early Childhood Parent Council

Join our Early Childhood Parent Council! The council meets monthly and works collaboratively to provide input and feedback to the early childhood team on important programs, goals, and initiatives. Free money for college

If you are a parent of a senior, submit your student’s FAFSA application today to receive free money to go to college! You can also click here to learn more about the process or you can also ask your counselor about FAFSA support. Funds are first-come-first-served.

Beyond High School College and Career Fair 

Our 9th annual Beyond High School College and Career Fair will be held on Tuesday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Tulsa, Reynolds Center (3208 E. 8th St.). This event is open to all juniors and seniors and allows students to network with more than 50 colleges and businesses. Students can visit www.tulsaschools.org/beyond to register! Seal of Biliteracy application open

Our Seal of Biliteracy application process is open! Multilingual seniors can apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy. Students can apply online at www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. The student application deadline is Friday, October 22.
